Franco Jara officially joins FC Dallas training

Yes, this is the news we were waiting for!

Forward Franco Jara joined FC Dallas on Tuesday, June 16 for small group training sessions and will be eligible to play in the MLS is Back Tournament, pending receipt of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

Jara originally signed a pre-contract with FC Dallas on January 21, 2020 and joins the club following four years with C.F. Pachuca in Liga MX.

He was originally set to officially join the team on July 7 but the coronavirus pandemic shut both leagues down this spring and drastically changed how the transfer would happen. Thankfully both leagues and FIFA were able to come to an agreement to push this deal across the finish line.

Now FC Dallas will be able to integrate their new striker into the roster ahead of the Orlando tournament. The big question will be how head coach Luchi Gonzalez is able to juggle an attacking group that looked good down the stretch of the season and to open 2020.

What do you all make of this news? Happy to see it get finalized ahead of the season restart?
