Ronaldo says he felt tipsy after a glass of champagne following Euro 2016

Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he felt tipsy after a glass of champagne following Portugal’s Euro 2016 triumph – because he was dehydrated after crying so much. 

The Juventus star was victorious on the international stage three years ago as Portugal beat France 1-0 after extra time. 

And now the 34-year-old has spoken out about the celebrations that followed.

‘It was the most important trophy of my career,’ he told DAZN, as quoted by Marca.

‘I laughed, I cried, I got a little drunk.

‘During that game, I cried so much that I was dehydrated.

‘At the end of the game, during the celebrations, I drank a glass of champagne and immediately it went to my head.

‘I never drink, but that day was so special.’
