Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick admitted he is hopeful of convincing star midfielder Thiago Alcantara to remain with the club.
The 29-year-old star has recently expressed his desire to leave, which was confirmed by CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, and has been strongly linked with a summer move to Liverpool.
Thiago came off the bench with just three minutes remaining in Bayern’s 4-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the DFB-Pokal final on Saturday, but Flick is adamant he will attempt to entice him to stay put.

With his contract set to expire in 2021, it appears the former Barcelona youth product is desperate to add another chapter to his rich career.
Liverpool are reportedly attempting to tie up a deal worth £32million with Jurgen Klopp said to be a big fan of the player.
But after watching his side clinch yet more silverware at the weekend, Flick told reporters: ‘The thing is, I always have hope. I’m actually always very positive about things.
‘I also know, of course, that when you’re at a certain age and you’ve already played in the Spanish league with Barcelona and in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich, you feel the need to experience another big league. That is quite normal and that is also human.

‘I’m trying my best to make sure Thiago stays here and that you can convince him to stay. But that’s one thing that time will show.
‘We still have the Champions League ahead of us now and we have a lot of plans, also together with him.’
Thiago arrived at the Allianz Arena in 2013 and has won seven Bundesliga titles with the club. He has made 36 appearances across all competitions this season despite struggling with injuries.
However, with the Spain international having made his future intentions clear, Bayern may now be forced into scrambling for a potential buyer this summer rather than allowing him to leave on a free transfer just a year later.
Club chief Rummenigge is adamant the recently-crowned Bundesliga champions will recoup a fee.
