The Premier League is into its final month of fixtures, and it won’t be long until clubs are dipping into the summer transfer market.
While the title has been decided, there are still some matters to be settled, with qualification for Europe and relegation yet to be sorted.
One name who is repeatedly linked with a Premier League switch is James Rodriguez. The midfielder who once lit up an entire World Cup has struggled at Real Madrid overall and Man United are thought to be in the driving seat for his signature.
Elsewhere, Dwight McNeil continues to be linked with a move to Old Trafford and Sean Dyche has spoken about how the work the youngster is doing now is preparing him for life on football’s top stage.
Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip from the Premier League.
James linked with Premier League move
James Rodriguez has made it clear to Real Madrid that he no longer wants to play for the club – and he could be set for a move to the Premier League.
The Spanish giants will be looking to offload the attacking midfielder this summer, having missed out on cashing in on him last year when they pulled out of a deal with Atletico Madrid.
James spent two seasons on loan at Bayern Munich, but the German giants chose not to take up the option to sign the 28-year-old last summer after a disappointing season.
According to Marca, Everton, Arsenal, Manchester United and Wolves are all thought to be interested in bringing the Colombia international to the Premier League this summer.
Dwight McNeil latest
Dwight McNeil must get used to a heavy workload if he is to succeed at a top Premier League club, believes Burnley boss Sean Dyche.
“It is all part of your development,” said Dyche of the youngster, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent months and looks certain to leave Turf Moor at some point in the next few years.
“If he goes to where I think he can, then he is going to play a lot of games.
“If he goes to one of the top clubs in the future then he is going to be asked to play a lot of games.
“I think mentally and physically it does him no harm to play in these games when he is trying to work through it, be diligent, do all the basics and try and find a moment for the team. I don’t think that will do him any harm.”
Mata eyes up move to Turkey
Juan Mata is keen to leave Manchester United this summer and, according to reports, is hoping to join Turkish side Fenerbahce.
The Spain international has struggled for playing time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, and may find himself surplus to requirements as United target Jack Grealish.
Mata signed a new contract at Old Trafford last summer, but with appearances dwindling, the player is thought to be keen to secure a move away.
Turkish website Sanaursuz Futbol (via the Express) reports that Fenerbahce president Ali Koc has held talks over signing Mata, and the Super Lig club are confident of landing the playmaker.
