With less than a month left of the current season remaining, clubs are already busy making plans for the upcoming transfer window.
Despite the effect the coronavirus pandemic has had on club finances, it promises to still be a summer filled with plenty of comings and goings.
Manchester United could be one of the more active sides in the market, as they continue to weigh up moves for Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish, though could opt to strengthen in other areas given their free-scoring return after the restart.
Arsenal face a big summer too, as Mikel Arteta’s rebuild continues.
The Gunners are looking to tie down their big-name stars to new contracts, as well as add to their squad, with Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey the key name on their radar.
There could be several departures at The Emirates too, with Matteo Guendouzi’s future hanging in the balance, while Arteta is still hopeful of keeping Dani Ceballos on beyond the end of his loan spell.
League leaders Liverpool have already missed out on Timo Werner, but could still raid the Bundesliga in the coming months, with reports linking them with Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara.
Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to strengthen his squad in order to fend off the threat of Man City, who are likely to delve into the market this summer in search of reinforcements for their next title challenge.
Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake is said to top their list of defensive targets, while manager Pep Guardiola has admitted £50m-man John Stones could leave the club this summer after struggling to hold down a first-team place.
With all that plus plenty more across the top-flight and across Europe, including a number of free agents on the move, it is set to be a busy few months.
