Greenwood and Saka to be watched by Southgate in FA Cup semi-finals

Mason Greenwood and Bukayo Saka will be watched by England boss Gareth Southgate when they play in their respective semi-finals.

The two teenagers have enjoyed breakthrough seasons with some already calling for them to get England recognition.

Their respective sides, Manchester United and Arsenal, are in the last four of the FA Cup giving Southgate a chance to observe the stars in high pressure situations.

The Three Lions boss has not been to a single Premier League game since football’s restart but will watch the semi-finals between Manchester City and Arsenal, and Chelsea and United, reports the Daily Mail.

Mason Greenwood has been in excellent goal scoring form

Southgate has UEFA Nations League games against Iceland and Denmark in September to prepare for.

The 49-year-old has always shown a commitment to youth since taking charge.

And he is conscious that several talents are emerging that could play a role in next summer’s European Championships.

Both Greenwood and Saka have continued to show their worth in recent weeks.

The United star scored in their win over Aston Villa to make it four goals in his last three outings.

Bukayo Saka has been a leading light for the Gunners this term

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already said that the sky is the limit for the 18-year-old.

“I am doing my bit to help him but he has to do it – turn in performances in training, in games, live his life properly. It’s up to him how far he wants to go,” he claimed.

“He’s 18 and of course he will get better.”

Saka meanwhile grabbed an assist in Arsenal’s last game which came just days after he celebrated his new contract by scoring at Wolves.
