Transfer speculation is building as attention turns to the FA Cup semi-finals this weekend. The end of the 2019-20 season is drawing near and while Chelsea have already wrapped up some impressive deals, they continue to be linked with several star names from across the continent.
Manchester City learned on Monday that their two-year ban from European competition had been overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport and you would expect that to have ramifications in the transfer window.
The revised dates of the summer window have been confirmed, and we’ll bring you all the latest transfer news and rumours…
Chilwell ‘not for sale’
And I say that has ramifications for Chelsea, because if Brendan Rodgers is as good as his word then they might want to think about swooping for Tagliafico.
The Leicester boss was talking about Ben Chilwell in his press conference ahead of the meeting with Tottenham and was pretty unequivocal.
“He’s a Leicester player and not one that we want to lose so I’m quite relaxed on it,” he said.
“There’s no intention to sell Ben Chilwell and absolutely no need to sell. The message is: He’s not for sale.”
Atletico considering Tagliafico move
Goal say that Atletico Madrid have entered the race to sign Ajax star Nicolas Tagliafico – a move which could have ramifications for Chelsea.
The Blues are known to be in the market for a left-back, with Leicester’s Ben Chilwell known to be their no.1 target, but Tagliafico has reportedly been identified as an alternative if a deal with the Foxes proves too expensive.
