Chelsea can take advantage of Real Madrid fire sale by signing three players

The summer transfer window is an important opportunity for Frank Lampard to reshape the Chelsea squad into his own image.

The Blues boss has already agreed deals for Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, while there are reports of Kai Havertz also being close to a move.

While the club’s full transfer plan is contingent on the Champions League, that hasn’t stopped some supporters dreaming big, and news via Marca that Real Madrid are planning to raise €180million through player sales should be music to the ears of most Chelsea fans.

With that in mind, here are the players the club could target this summer.

Dani Ceballos

The midfielder has spent this season on loan at Arsenal and, while it has taken him some time to settle, we are slowly starting to see why he earned a move to Real Madrid in the first place.

It’s been claimed Ceballos is less than thrilled at the thought of returning to work under Zinedine Zidane after the Frenchman struggled to accommodate him during his first spell in charge.

A talented all-round midfielder with an eye for a pass, he could be exactly what Lampard is looking for from a deeper position to stitch the game together.

The 23-year-old still has considerable room to grow, and even if Los Blancos’ reported asking price has jumped from £23million to £32million, it could prove a shrewd move in time.

Jesus Vallejo

This might sound a bit left-field but hear us out.

Vallejo is an intelligent defender that reads the game well and is comfortable on the ball.

Lampard has been willing to deploy a back-three with Chelsea this season, and that could be a perfect opportunity for Vallejo to shine in the heart of defence.

There is no denying the defender struggled during a loan spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers, but he has found some form with Granada in La Liga this season.

Older and wiser, Chelsea may want to negotiate a reported fee of €15million down, but he could be a good low-cost option for the club to consider.

Oscar Rodriguez

The 22-year-old has enjoyed an excellent individual season with Leganes in La Liga, even if the club were ultimately relegated.

Linked with Villarreal, Rodriguez is a versatile attacker and while Martin Odegaard has earned the headlines, Rodriguez has gone about his work quietly at Leganes.
