England suffered heartbreak in Cesena after an Aaron Wan-Bissaka own-goal gifted France a stoppage time victory in a thrilling Under 21 European Championship clash.

The Three Lions took the lead in the second half thanks to a brilliant solo effort from Phil Foden after the French missed a penalty in the first period.

England get their European Under 21 Championship campaign underway when they take on France to help complete the opening round of matches in the competition.

Italy and San Marino are hosting this year’s competition, with Aidy Boothroyd’s side hoping to build on their semi-final showing from two years ago as they look to advance from a group also featuring Romania and Croatia.
