Paolo Maldini has agreed to take over as AC Milan‘s technical director while Sampdoria coach Marco Giampaolo will become the new boss, according to reports.
According to Italian publication Gazetta dello Sport, legendary centre-back Maldini has accepted Milan’s terms that will see him replace Leonardo Araujo.
Maldini is set to be assisted by head of youth operations Angelo Carbone, chief scout Geoffrey Moncada, as well as a sporting director Igli Tare from Lazio.

The report concludes that Sampdoria boss Giampaolo will become the new manager of the Serie A outfit as he has ‘the required characteristics’ to manage AC.
He has already informed Sampdoria that he wants to leave for the San Siro this summer.
Maldini’s move back to his former club will be a very popular choice with the fans, having played 647 games, winning seven Serie A titles and five Champions Leagues.
