Russia 3-1 Egypt RESULT – Mo Salah’s scores in World Cup 2018 debut

World Cup 2018: Russia 3-1 Egypt, RESULT: Mohamed Salah scores penalty but hosts all but secure last-16 spot to leave opponents on brink

Mohamed Salah’s chance to shine on the biggest stage with his nation looks to have ended as host nation Russia moved within touching distance of the World Cup knockout rounds with a stunning victory in St Petersburg.

All eyes are on Liverpool and Egypt star Mohamed Salah who is fit to start for his country in their make-or-break clash against hosts Russia in St Petersburg.

The rapid forward is yet to play a game since he left the pitch in the Champions League final with a shoulder injury last month.

Egypt will need their talisman fit and firing as they face the ignominious honour of potentially being the first team eliminated from the World Cup should they lose and Uruguay win on Wednesday.

Find out if they can spark their campaign into life or if Russia will put one foot in the last 16 by following our live coverage with your host DAN RIPLEY, while MARTIN SAMUEL, IAN HERBERT AND OLIVER HOLT are on hand to provide updates from Russia.
