Newcastle United are keen to sign Antonee Robinson, after his asking price has fallen by more than £8 million, according to the Daily Mail.
Sheffield United are apparently leading the way to land the Wigan Athletic right-back, but Newcastle also hold a keen interest.
It is no surprise to see the addition of Robinson appealing to Premier League sides either.
Following Wigan’s relegation to League One, he could now cost £1.9 million, after almost moving for £10 million to AC Milan at the start of the year (Mail).
If he was to move to Newcastle, Robinson would offer Steve Bruce’s side further cover at right-back, and his pace could be a valuable asset.
With doubts persisting over the future of DeAndre Yedlin, Robinson looks like a direct replacement.
Robinson offers similar speed to Yedlin, but he is younger and may just be considered to have more potential.
Robinson was one of the standout right-backs in the Championship last term, which has led to a number of top flight clubs showing interest.
