‘Ability, attitude, athleticism’: Don Hutchison raves about reported West Ham

Don Hutchison has raved about reported West Ham target Ainsley Maitland-Niles, suggesting that he cannot believe Arsenal are willing to sell the 22-year-old.

According to a report from the Sun, Hammers boss David Moyes is showing firm interest in signing the versatile Gunners star.

Mikel Arteta is allegedly willing to allow the young Arsenal ace to leave the Emirates this summer.

The British tabloid claims that Maitland-Niles will cost around £30 million, however. And that will represent obvious complications for West Ham, what with the east London outfit’s current financial difficulties.

He can play right-back, left-back, anywhere in midfield and ever further forward. So £30 million would actually represent decent value for the Hammers.

David Moyes bringing Maitland-Niles to the London Stadium is still a real long shot, however.

Stats

The 22-year-old registered two assists in 20 Premier League appearances this season (Who Scored).

In those 20 outings, Maitland-Niles averaged 2.1 tackles, 1.4 interceptions, 1.6 clearances and 1.1 dribbles per game (Who Scored).

And former West Ham man Don Hutchison absolutely raved about the Arsenal ace on his official Instagram account:

As unlikely as West Ham signing Maitland-Niles may seem at the moment, it could be possible if Moyes manages to sell some of his underperforming big name players.

And the Hammers really should be doing everything in their power to bring the 22-year-old to east London this summer.
