The French Under-21 international has been mentioned in connection with Pep Guardiola’s side in the run-up to Saturday’s big showdown in Lisbon, while Arsenal and Juventus have also been linked with a player said to be valued at around the £44m mark.

“I don’t know if it is a job interview,” Aouar said in a pre-match press conference on Friday. “It’s flattering to be linked but it’s a bit off-topic.

“I am fully focused on Lyon because these are really important matches.”
