Reports this past weekend suggested that the Blaugrana would be open to selling most of their first-team players ahead of the 2020/21 campaign as they try to rebuild the squad following a tough season.

In an interview on Tuesday, under-fire president Bartomeu surprisingly seemed to confirm those controversial reports, naming just a handful of players the club will not look to sell, starting with the club’s captain and all-time record goalscorer Lionel Messi.

“Who’s not for sale? Leo Messi,” he told Barca TV.

“He knows that. He’s the best player in the world.

“We’d also be talking about (Marc-Andre) ter Stegen, (Nelson) Semedo, (Frenkie) de Jong, (Clement) Lenglet, (Ousmane) Dembele… (Antoine) Griezmann too.”

Barca Break Silence On ‘Immediate Messi Exit’ Talk

While he did not name 17-year-old star Ansu Fati among the squad’s “untouchables”, Barca have often insisted the African-born winger is not for sale.
