Ryan Giggs’ young side struggled to make the breakthrough until late on but were by far the better team in the second half and deserved to come away with a confidence boosting win ahead of their Euro qualifier against Slovakia this weekend.
Elsewhere, Germany fought back from a goal down to share the spoils with Serbia after substitute Leon Goretzka came on and cancelled out Luka Jovic’s opener.
