Man United fans urge Woodward hijack Chelsea advance stage deal

Chelsea are closing on Chilwell and Havertz. The Blues will like to sign a player to get more training time with first-team.

Manchester United have spent a fortune to fortify their defense – be it Lindelof and Bailey under Jose Mourinho to Maguire and Wan-Bissaka under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. However, though there is some improvement, it isn’t up to the mark.

After the Europa League exit, fans are furious about the defensive errors the club continues to make. When Luke De Jong put the game to bed, Harry Maguire looked drained. In fact, so did the rest of the squad.

While the Red Devils are busy working on more defenders to sign, fans have demand signing Thiago Silva from Paris St.Germain. The Brazilian veteran is considering his future in France and both Chelsea and Manchester United are interested.

Manchester United messed up with transfer policies

The Red Devils have been heavily interested in Jadon Sancho for what looks like ages now. But in spite of optimistic tweets from Fabrizio Romano, nothing looks concrete now. As per the latest reports from journalist Laurie Whitwell, there is a miscommunication about his valuation.

The man in the cynosure of the whole conundrum is Joel Glazer. As a result, fans have expressed their anger about the Glazers’ transfer policies, suggesting players who can be brought for free. While signing all such players looks a bleak possibility, one fits the bill well – Thiago Silva.

Manchester United’s priority, however, remains Jadon Sanho’s signature. Borussia Dortmund has maintained they will open the door only if the United pays £108 million. Federico Chiesa, Gabriel Maghaeles, and Pau Torres continue to be other targets Ole is chasing.

Thiago Silva – The pillar in green and yellow

Thiago Silva in action for Brazil

When Brazil broke down mentally after losing Neymar in the 2014 World Cup with injury, one man took centre stage. The centre-back who honed his skills at San Siro and went on to become one of the best defenders of Brazil ever – Thiago Silva.

Silva left Milan in 2012 after Italian legend Paolo Maldini cajoled him to join Paris St. Germain. The deal cost €42 million and he became the World’s second most expensive defender then. Manchester United’s Rio Ferdinand continued to maintain top spot.

After 8 years though, Silva contemplates his future away from Parc Des Princes. At 35 too, he has 56% clean sheets in all appearances this season. That underlines his influence on the field – something United need desperately at the moment. (Stat-source: Footystats)
