Friday’s latest transfer news and rumours – LIVE

Follow the latest updates live in from the summer transfer window as Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea all pursue major signings ahead of the start of the new summer season. United continue to work on a move for Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho, with the club attempting to talk the German side down from their £108m valuation. United are also being linked with Real Madrid defender Sergio Reguilon, who is also attracting loan interest once more from Sevilla.
City continue to wait on the drawn-out talks between Barcelona and Lionel Messi as a second day of negotiations failed to reach a conclusion over the forward’s future, with Messi pushing for an exit this summer. However, the complications around his current contract, plus astronomical £624m release clause, could see Messi remain at the Nou Camp for one more season.
Chelsea meanwhile are primed to announce the signing of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz after reportedly reaching a £89m agreement to sign the 21-year-old. With personal terms as good as done, confirmation of Chelsea’s new club-record deal is expected to be a formality. Follow the live updates below.
Gareth Bale has broken his public silence on his Real Madrid future, and he doesn’t sound too happy with life in the Spanish capital.
The Wales forward has admitted in an interview with Sky Sports News that he is open to a Premier League return, but remains at the mercy of Madrid with two years left to run on his contract.
Bale says that the club put the brakes on his departure to China last season, only to then exile him from the first team when Zinedine Zidane returned, and although he is keen to play regularly once again, the club will decide where he plays his football this season.
