Transfers LIVE: New Arsenal Aouar boost, Telles to Man Utd agreed


Welcome to the Evening Standard‘s rolling coverage of the summer transfer window.

Tottenham are closing in on a sensational double deal for Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon having already signed Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart and Matt Doherty during the window.

Arsenal have secured Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang‘s future after signing Willian and Gabriel Magalhaes, and Lyon’s Houssem Aouar appears to be the next target.

Chelsea have confirmed the £90m arrival of Kai Havertz, having previously signed Thiago Silva, Malang Sarr, Ben Chilwell, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech – with goalkeeper Edouard Mendy expected to follow this week.


Manchester United have signed Donny van de Beek while working on a deal for Jadon Sancho, and Liverpool are set to sign Thiago Alcantara for £25m.

Barca open to Semedo Premier League move

Barcelona are willing to allow Nelson Semedo to move to the Premier League during the transfer window, report ESPN. 

The Spanish giants have reportedly received a number of offers from English clubs, and may give their blessing to his exit this weekend. 

The 26-year-old moved to Barcelona from Benfica in 2017, making 124 appearances since.

Nuno confirms Jota-Liverpool move

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed Diogo Jota will be moving to Liverpool. 

The Reds will pay at least £41m for the 23-year-old, with a further £4m in add-ons relating to league and European success also written into the deal.

Speaking in a press conference, Nuno said: “Liverpool are going to have a great player and boy, and Ki has a bright future ahead of him.

“We think this deal is good for everybody. Diogo was really happy here, but it’s normal that players like to face new challenges.”
