Report: Spurs could offer Carter-Vickers to Swansea in Joe Rodon bid – The Boot

Tottenham Hotspur could look to include Cameron Carter-Vickers in a bid for Swansea City defender Joe Rodon, according to The Sun (6/10; page 54).

Spurs appear to still have one player on their radar following Monday’s initial deadline. The Daily Mail reported earlier in the week that talks with the Swans were underway.

However, it appeared that the two sides were some distance apart in their valuations of the 22-year-old. According to the Mail, Tottenham had bid £7 million for a player Swansea want £18 million for.

There looks to be some way to go before a deal is agreed. But perhaps, Tottenham have a plan that may allow them to get closer to offering a package Swansea may like the look of.

According to The Sun (6/10; page 54), Spurs could consider including Carter-Vickers in a future bid.

The USA international previously spent time on loan at the Liberty Stadium. And The Mail on Sunday (4/10; page 143), Swansea are one of the sides keen on signing the centre-back.

It remains to be seen if an agreement can be reached. But perhaps Swansea’s reported interest in the 22-year-old may help Jose Mourinho’s cause.

Steve Cooper’s men will surely still want a sizeable fee even if a swap is on the cards. Losing Rodon would be a big blow for the Championship side.

But if Swansea become resigned to losing the youngster at any stage, some kind of deal may work out well for all parties.
