Out of favor star forcing a way out of Manchester United
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer position as the manager of Manchester United is under scrutiny. They have registered only one win in the opening three games of the 2020/21 season.
The Red Devils were also thrashed 6-1 by Tottenham Hotspurs at the start of the month. There is a fear that the dressing room is disjointed by the mauling. Harry Maguire, in particular, has come under fierce criticism.
Added by the fragile transfer dealings in the window, Manchester United are once again in crisis. Solksjaer is probably weeks away from getting sack if the results don’t come their way.
Amidst the chaotic environment, one forgotten star is pushing for a way out. According to the Sun, Argentinian goalkeeper Sergio Romero has grown increasingly frustrated over his treatment at the club.
Romero wants a way out

Sergio Romero has now mainly become a third-choice keeper at Manchester United. Already, he is in intense competition with David De Gea for the number one spot. The return of Dean Henderson from his loan spell further put him down the pecking order.
The Argentinian joined the English club in 2015. He was mostly deployed as the second choice to De Gea throughout the time. But he got constant minutes in the cup fixtures and even helped his side lift the 2017 UEFA Europa League.
However, Solksjaer has overlooked him in two crucial semifinal ties in cup competitions last season. Despite playing the entirety of the FA Cup and the Europa League, the manager decided to drop him for De Gea. The Spaniard’s errors cost them the opportunity to land those silverware.
This has made up the mind for Sergio Romero. He is no longer committed to the club with his contract running down next year. Romero has urged the board to bring out chances for his move elsewhere.
Romero on course to terminate the contract

According to The Sun, Romero is on the course to terminate his contract with Manchester United. This has come after he was left out from the 25 men shortlist for Europa League.
With Dean Henderson getting the nod over him in the Carabao Cup fixtures last month, this has citied his end days at the club. Romero’s wife has also been vocal about his treatment by the club’s hierarchy.
All of these have led him to terminate his contract as soon as possible. Everton were the prime runners for his signature in the window but they went for Robin Olsen instead on the deadline day. Romero became annoyed by the lack of activity made by the board on his part.
Sergio Romero is now wishing to sail off to an MLS side in January if possible on a pre-contract. Reports are also claiming that he is even willing to give up any compensation fee if United meets the demand of his future.
