Some Liverpool fans on Twitter are drooling over Diogo Jota’s performance last night.

The Reds new boy starred as Portugal thumped Sweden 3-0 in Nations League duty.

First, Jota, who joined Liverpool from Wolves last month, set up Bernardo Silva’s opener, before scoring either side of half-time to give his country a commanding lead.

The Premier League champions committed to paying a potential £45 million for Jota – depending on various add-ons – and some fans of the Anfield club raised an eyebrow over that figure.

But it’s clear that the 23-year-old is a major talent and here’s how some Liverpool supporters reacted to his performance last night:

Jota hasn’t had many chances to make Liverpool fans fall in love with him for real yet.

But that could change on Saturday when Jurgen Klopp’s side visit Everton in a very exciting Merseyside derby.

The Toffees are top of the Premier League table after a barnstorming start to the season and the Anfield outfit were thumped 7-2 by Aston Villa last time around.

But if Jota plays a big role in an away win for Liverpool at Goodison then it might just set the tone for a goal-laden, exciting union between him and the club.
