Sky Germany pundits Dietmar Hamann and Lothar Matthäus have revealed who they would call up for next year’s European Championship.

They would both re-call Mats Hummels, who hasn’t played for ‘Die Mannschaft’ since he was excluded from the national team set-up in March last year along with Jerome Boateng and Thomas Müller.

“Mats Hummels is very important in the build-up and is a defensive leader. He makes the others better and is currently the best German centre-back,” said Hamann.

Matthäus would bring back Thomas Müller as well.

“He’s a good team player, influences the other players and is perfect for high-pressure football,” said Germany’s record cap-holder.
