Pulisic happy with point but disappointed Chelsea couldn’t score vs Sevilla
Christian Pulisic joined Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund in January 2019 for a fee of $60 million. He was subsequently loaned out to Dortmund for the rest of the season. He did struggle initially but now he looks very much settled at the club.
The American international is seen as a direct replacement for Eden Hazard. Both of them have a similar style of play as well. At the start of this season, he was also given No.10 jersey by the club, which was vacated by Willian, who joined Arsenal.
In the game against Sevilla, Pulisic could not make much of an impact in the game. He has just come off after a long-term injury which he picked against Arsenal in the FA Cup final last season. The 22 years old started on the right-wing for the Blues.
However, he was able to make an impact on the game when he shifted to the left-hand side. He looked more natural and comfortable on the left side. Many Chelsea fans also displayed anger on social media that Lampard’s preference for Mount meant Pulisic had to play on the right-wing.
Pulisic: Proud of the point against Sevilla but could not score

The young winger was speaking to Chelsea TV after the goalless draw against Sevilla. He appreciated that the Blues defended very well in the game where there were very few chances. He also reckoned that it was a very tough game.
The American believes that Chelsea should be proud of the draw as they defended very well. He pointed out that Sevilla are a very strong team and they move the ball very quickly, as a result of which they had to defend a lot.
Pulisic also vowed that Chelsea will continue to work hard as a team and it is everyone’s job to defend without the ball in order to give the team more confidence.
“It was definitely a tough game […] not a lot of chances; a really hard-fought match. We did a lot of good defending. I think we can walk away proud with a point. They’re a strong team and they definitely put us to the test. They move the ball really well and we defended a lot today. “
“We’re going to continue to work to improve as a team. It’s everyone’s job to be behind the ball at times and [the forwards] have to help out defensively. It will give us some confidence going forward, to come away with a clean sheet, so it’s not all bad.f course that’s the goal, to find the balance. Obviously, we want to create more chances and I want to help with that, but we have to find a way to do both.”
Bigger test for Chelsea ahead of trip to Manchester United

The mood around Stamford Bridge is a mixed one at this moment. There is some good feeling as Chelsea managed to keep a clean sheet given that they conceded three against Southampton. While there is frustration about the fact that they could not score against Sevilla.
The presence of Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell, and Edu Mendy has significantly improved Chelsea’s backline. However, this will be tested to its limits against Manchester United at Old Trafford. The Red Devils…
