Liverpool and Henderson sign up to FA’s new diversity leadership code
Liverpool have confirmed they are backing the FA’s new football diversity leadership code.
The move is part of the club’s ongoing commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
Although clubs have the autonomy to devise their own targets, some of the FA’s targets include: 15 percent of new senior leadership and team operations hires will be Black, Asian or of Mixed-Heritage and 30 percent will be female, as well as 25 per cent of new coaching staff hires (men’s clubs) and 15 per cent (women’s clubs) will be Black, Asian or of Mixed-Heritage.
Lynne Stockton Howard, senior vice president, HR, at Liverpool FC, said: “We are proud to be a founding signatory of the FA’s Football Diversity Leadership Code, as it reflects our ambitions and commitment as a club to make both LFC and the wider football community as inclusive as possible.
“This month we launched our equality, diversity and inclusion strategy, Red Together, which provides a recognisable platform to bring our important work, messaging, achievements and ambitions in this area to the forefront. Alongside this, we maintained our Premier League Advanced Level Equality Standard in recognition of the club’s ongoing commitment to driving change.
