Writing on Twitter, Alasdair Gold has shared news that summer signing Alfie Devine scored for the Under-23s against Derby County on Friday at just 16-years-old – going on to claim that it ‘will be interesting’ to see how he develops as a Spurs player.
Devine, who signed from Wigan Athletic in the summer, becoming Spurs’ first acquisition of the window as explained by Gold, bagged a goal for the Lilywhites academy side as they fell short against Derby.
Will Alfie Devine become a future star for Spurs?
Gold shares ‘interesting’ update
The promising box-to-box midfield player, who featured alongside outcast Danny Rose during the match, turned the ball in from the first corner of the 90 minutes.
Still only 16-years-old, notching in a goal for the U23s team has prompted a reaction from Gold who felt it necessary to share this ‘interesting’ news with Tottenham supporters – with it being safe to say the club have a promising starlet on their hands.
Alfie Devine, only 16 but scoring for the U23s today. Will be interesting to see how quickly he develops in his first season at Spurs. https://t.co/20mjPr2dvj

Transfer Tavern take
Putting pen to paper on a £500,000 deal from Wigan Athletic after the League One side entered administration, Daniel Levy pounced on an opportunity to land a player who could hold a very high ceiling.
The teenager has been likened to Premier League legends Patrick Vieira and Steven Gerrard for possessing a similar playing style to the duo (Spurs Web).
As explained by the media, his box-to-box style and never-ending energy marks him out as a raw talent who could one day become a first team regular under manager Jose Mourinho.
Whether or not Spurs will see a senior debut for Devine any time soon remains to be seen, but after his return from injury, the sky could be the limit.
