The agent of Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz insists that the player remains “very happy” at the Italian club and is looking forward to showing off his abilities at the European Championship with Spain.

Alvaro Torres told Goal Spain when asked what the future holds for the 24-year-old midfielder: “You have to live in the present. 

“Last night [in the 6-0 win over Germany] Fabian played at the level that he has shown us for a long time, he had a spectacular game with three assists.

“He has an important challenge with the national team at the European Championship next summer. He is a starter and an important player at Napoli and in the Spanish national team.

“I think he will become even more important for both of them and he has many years left in the national team. He is also very happy at Napoli and looking forward to winning titles. 

“The renewal that we had planned has been on standby for a long time, there has been no progress. When this season ends, he will only have two years left on his contract. 

“The European Championship will come, which I think is going to be a spectacular showcase for him and he is really looking forward to it. He has the challenge of being the best at the tournament.”
