Sky Sports pundit backing Bournemouth to see off Reading

Sky Sports pundit David Prutton reckons Reading could be heading for a fourth successive Championship defeat this weekend.

The EFL expert says all the indications are for a home win on Saturday lunchtime at the Vitality Stadium (12.30pm).

Just two points separate the two clubs going into the game and the Cherries are able to go top and overtake Royals if they emerge victorious.

A win for Veljko Paunovic’s Reading would extend their lead to four points although that could be cut later in the afternoon.

Prutton is backing Bournemouth to come out on top but admits it should be a tightly-contested affair on the south coast.

He said: “It does point towards a home win, considering what we have seen from Reading…that really chastening defeat going into the international break against Stoke which was their third defeat on the bounce.

“But they’ve had a good couple of weeks to have a look at stuff.

“For Bournemouth, being one of the select few teams to be unbeaten at home, I think it leans towards a home win, certainly on paper.

“I’m going to say Bournemouth home win but as we’ve seen in the Championship that will then mean when I look at the end of the game and it says Reading have beaten Bournemouth, I will smile sarcastically inwards and think that just proves exactly what the division is…!”

Prutton’s prediction : Bournemouth 2 Reading 1
