Mikel Arteta is a busy man.

The Arsenal boss is closing in on a year in charge at the Emirates, one in which he has already secured his first piece of silverware in the form of the FA Cup.

The Gunners boss will be targeting bigger things, however, with the Premier League title still some way off. That means he may need to instigate change at the club, particularly in his first team if he is to climb the table and beat out his competition.

The January window is fast approaching and that gives Arteta the chance to do just that.

Arsenal have rejected the chance to sign Mitch Bergkamp following a trial period with the club, according to reports.

The son of former Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp, the midfielder had been plying his trade in the Netherlands with Almere City.

He was invited to train with Arsenal’s Under-23s for a week and work alongside his father’s former teammate, Steve Bould.

According to, the Gunners have decided against signing the midfielder despite sending a number of players out on loan.

Mitch has previously described Arsenal as ‘home’ after growing up in North London.

“My father also played for Internazionale and Ajax, two wonderful clubs, but Arsenal feels like home.” he previously told ELF Votebal, via Goal.

Agent of the ‘next Mesut Ozil’ flattered by Arsenal links

The agent of Yusuf Yazici is ‘honoured’ to hear his client’s name linked with Arsenal, according to reports.

Yazici, 23, is currently on the books of French side Lille where he has made a big impression this season.

The Turkish international would be the third player to leave Lille to join the Gunners following in the footsteps of Nicolas Pepe and Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

Lille paid Trabzonspor €16.5million to secure Yazici and the player’s agent, Adem Cebeci said that while he is happy he does expect the club to cash in on the player.

“In Lille, he works with the best,” the player’s agent, Adem Cebeci told Turkish outlet Demiroren.

“Yusuf feels right at home here to work on his weaknesses – speed and speed. They want to use his full potential and sell him to even bigger clubs for a lot of money. We are honoured that big clubs have had an eye on him.”
