Mesut Ozil’s Arsenal days could finally be coming to an end as he continues to be out in the cold at the Emirates.
The German is yet to feature this season but has regularly been linked with a move away.
His contract is up at the end of the season and Ozil has maintained he will see out his Arsenal deal.
But a suitor may finally have been found as the Gunners eye a creative midfielder of their own.
A poor start to the season has seen pressure mount on Mikel Arteta which may force him into the transfer market.
With that in mind we take a look at the latest rumours coming out of the Emirates.
Ozil ’90 per cent’ exit close
Mesut Ozil is close to joining Fenerbahce according to one of the Turkish side’s chiefs.
The German has long been linked with the Arsenal exit door having fallen out of favour under Mike Arteta.
He has been frozen out at the Emirates after being omitted from the Premier League and Europa League squads.
But Fenerbahce congress member Murat Zorlu is “90 per cent sure” Ozil will make a move to Turkey in the January transfer window.
He told Sport Digitale : “A source, who’s very well connected to the club has told me that Mesut Ozil is likely to become a Fenerbahce player during the next transfer window.
“I would say 90% he will join us in one month.”
Szoboszlai signing window
The Gunners are in the market for a creative midfielder having missed out on one in the summer.
RB Salzburg’s Dominik Szoboszlai has been heavily linked with a switch to the Emirates.
And according to the Athletic, Arsenal could get their man for as little as €25million, due to the player’s release clause.
The report suggests that the player must give notice of his intention to leave the Austrian club by December 15, with bids needing to be lodged by December 31.
If the Gunners miss that window, they will need to wait until the summer before it becomes active again at the start of July.
Arteta sack prediction
Mikel Arteta could be sacked as soon as this weekend according to Troy Deeney.
The Gunners are in a horrid run of form and languish in the bottom half of the table which has seen pressure mount on the Spanard.
“I actually said on [last week’s] show I fancied Arsenal to get a result,” said. Deeney.
“They are that kind of team where they can just pull one out the bag.
“But I’ll happily say I was massively wrong.
“Arsenal are in trouble. I’m happy for them that they are at home, but if they were playing Burnley away this week I’d be very nervous for them.
“I think he [Arteta] has to come under criticism, ultimately because of where they are.
“For me, and I’ll go out on a limb here, if they lose [to Burnley] he is massively under pressure.
“I’d be surprised, if they lose and the ones around them win, and they are looking more backwards than upwards, he would be under…
