Report: Liverpool want to sell £25m-rated Marko Grujic

Liverpool are hoping to try and sell Marko Grujic in the summer and value the player between £17 million and £25 million, according to Sportske.

The midfielder is currently on loan at Porto and helped the Portuguese outfit to a stunning win over Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Grujic hasn’t been a regular by any means this season though, with just three appearances coming in the way of starts.

He is yet to register a goal contribution for Porto and Liverpool are now preparing to cut their losses.

Liverpool will likely enter the transfer market themselves this summer and the funds from a Grujic sale would be welcome to the club’s kitty.

The Serbian international was the first signing of the Jurgen Klopp tenure but has failed to convince the boss of his ability.

He has made just 16 appearances for the Reds and has spent time on loan with Cardiff City and Hertha Berlin.

Now, his time on Merseyside could be coming to an end, with Liverpool viewing other players as better options.

Curtis Jones has come through the ranks, whilst Liverpool has signed Thiago Alcantara who Grujic would have to compete with for a shirt.

Selling him seems like a viable option and he might not be the only player to depart Anfield in the summer.

A £25 million valuation might seem steep but if anyone can recoup such an amount is Liverpool’s transfer guru, Michael Edwards.

Liverpool have come unstuck badly this season and the summer looks like a massive time for the football club.

The Reds have struggled with injuries but their fringe players simply haven’t done enough.

Grujic, on £15,000-a-week, isn’t a massive earner but every little will help Liverpool when it comes to signing players of their own.

At 24 there is plenty of time for Grujic to develop but the time has come for Liverpool to offload the man with nine caps for his country.
