Here is a summary of the main transfer market rumours that we’ve covered on this Wednesday’s live blog:
- Kylian Mbappe has said he doesn’t see himself ever playing for Tottenham, despite the strange rumour.
- Cesar Azpilicueta reportedly has an agreement in place to join Barcelona at the end of the season.
- Real Sociedad are said to be interested in signing Juan Mata from Manchester United.
- Newcastle are looking for potential transfer targets and Brazilian star Gabriel Barbosa, known as Gabigol, is the latest name to emerge.

He hasn’t had many opportunities under Steven Gerrard and the Serie A side would like to bring him in on a new loan with a purchase option.

Cruzeiro announced the signing of former Real Betis centre-back Sidnei on December 13, but just 16 days later the Brazilian club have admitted they can’t afford him. It is expected that the player will go to court to seek some kind of compensation.
15:30 GMT: Toronto dream of an Italian attack
Toronto FC‘s pursuit of Lorenzo Insigne has been well documented in recent days, but the MLS side are hoping to pair the Napoli star with Torino striker Andrea Belotti, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. Like Insigne, Belotti will be a free agent next summer. Toronto are willing to offer both players a very lucrative contract to make the move to Canada.
14:30 GMT: Raphinha won’t leave Leeds in January
Leeds United winger Raphinha will not push to leave the club in the January transfer window, say the Daily Mirror, following interest from Bayern Munich and Liverpool. Instead, he will wait until the summer to see what options he has.
14:00 GMT: Trippier closing in on Newcastle move
Atletico Madrid right-back Kieran Trippier is expected to be Newcastle United‘s first signing of the January transfer window, according to the Telegraph.
13:30 GMT: Chelsea keen on Theo Hernandez
Chelsea are looking to sign a left wing-back to cover for the injured Ben Chilwell, with Tuttosport claiming that the Blues are keen on AC Milan‘s Theo Hernandez. However, the Rossoneri want to receive a fee of more than 60 million euros.
